<\/strong>New York, anni \u201950. Al tempo del Maccartismo, Howard, uno squattrinato cassiere di un bar accetta di fare da prestanome ad Alfred Miller, sceneggiatore della televisione caduto in disgrazia a causa di certe sue sospette “attivit\u00e0 antiamericane”. Egli firmer\u00e0, d\u2019ora in poi, i copioni dello scrittore e ne ricever\u00e0 una percentuale sugli utili. Florence, una bella ragazza della televisione si innamora di lui, o meglio di lui scrittore e lui, che \u00e8 una persona di pochissima istruzione ed \u00e8 costretto, in situazioni di grande comicit\u00e0, a superare situazioni al limite dell\u2019impossibile.\u00a0 Nessuno si accorge di niente finch\u00e8 la politica del senatore McCarthy, non arriva a indagare anche su di lui\u2026 Un delicatissimo e drammatico tema come quello della \u201ccaccia alle streghe\u201d, riesce ad essere raccontato in una maniera estremamente brillante.<\/em><\/p>
